IFYS is growing and currently have a rare opportunity for a Practice Advisor to manage all aspects of service practice within the IFYS Residential Care programs. The Practice Advisor role is responsible for developing and coordinating positive behaviour support responses and plans for Children
and Young People in Out of Home Care. This role will ideally be located at our South Brisbane Office, with some travel to other regions in QLD if needed.

About the role

We are looking for someone with ambition, drive and a dedication to delivering high service standards. This person will have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Child Protection sector, with a passion for developing staff skill sets.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Liaise and partner with IFYS non-family based care teams to provide evidence-based behavioural interventions and strategies to support our direct care staff in providing a consistent approach that supports children and young people sense of safety
  • Design, review and implement systems that monitor the application of all behavioural interventions and strategies
  • Attend service stakeholder meetings as required: i.e.: placement matching, placement agreement meetings, case plan meetings and periodic departmental stakeholder meetings
  • Coordinate, review and monitor the outcomes of home care framework for all children and young people in IFYS nonfamily based care
  • Review critical incident reports and provide constructive feedback to services as required
  • Undertake practice review as required including the trending of data analysis across programs or young people
  • Coordinate, implement and monitor the Hope and Healing Framework
  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of all IFYS Models of Practice
  • Develop, monitor and review individual safety plans and individual crisis management plans for children and young people and program safety plans as required
  • Lead individual and reflective supervision sessions.
  • Develop and professional development and training packages for direct care staff
  •  

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary undergraduate degree or higher qualifications in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work or Psychology
  • A comprehensive and up to date understanding of child protection legislation and practices
  • Proven time management experience and the ability to work independently
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with all key stakeholders involved in out of home care
