The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.

The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.  The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the role

 

  • The IT Project Lead will play a critical role in the delivery and implementation of a range of project, technical initiatives and enhancements.
  • This role will work collaboratively with senior court leaders and key partner agencies to meaningfully assist people experiencing family violence.
  • Frequent travel throughout Victoria required.

 

The IT Project Lead is responsible for leading IT projects as assigned by the Business Engagement Manager with a particular focus on support for the Family Violence Branch of the Magistrates’ Court.

There is a broad range of liaison requirements with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and situations where a high degree of autonomy, responsibility and judgement is involved. The IT Project Lead will operate, at times, with limited supervision and assist the Business Engagement Manager and IT Coordinator with the management and coordination of IT projects within Jurisdiction Services and Court Services Victoria. This will include production of project status reports, financial tracking and reporting on IT project spending and other project artefacts.

About you

  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • ITIL Foundation is desirable.
  • Project management certification to practitioner level such as PRINCE2, PMP or Agile PM is highly preferred
