About the role

  • Ability to purchase additional leave
  •  Pay less tax – NFP Salary Packaging up to $15,900 
  • Fixed-term contract until June 2024; 4 days/wk. 

 

Your new job

 

The Youth Wellbeing Discipline Lead will provide leadership and management, regarding the recruiting, developing, maintaining and sustaining of the youth wellbeing worker workforce within the Orygen Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) mental health and wellbeing psychosocial services.  

 

You will:

 

  • Lead and manage psychosocial services to young people, carers, significant others and families as through Recovery Oriented Practice and related guidelines.
  • Lead and manage the youth wellbeing workers (YWW) in line with organisation quality processes and policies, agreed priorities and strategies.
  • Implement agreed approaches to service review and evaluation and promote the sharing of knowledge in the service.

 

What you’ll need

 

You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. In addition, you will bring:

 

  • Minimum qualifications of certificate IV in mental health and/or alcohol and other drugs or equivalent and qualifications in nursing, psychology, social work or occupational therapy is desirable for this non-clinical role.  
  • Extensive experience working in youth mental health services.
  • Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams and leading teams/ management of youth mental health services and bed-based services is desirable.
  • Previous working knowledge of the common mental health and substance use issues faced by young people, and evidence-based treatments for major adolescent health issues.
