Royal Academy of Dance National Director – Australia

Reporting to the incoming Global Chief Executive in the UK, and working in collaboration with the Head of International Operations, the National Director will lead the Academy’s strategic vision across its Australian operations. Fostering a positive, empowering and productive culture, you will inspire a passionate and committed team and play a key role in RAD’s regional promotion to ensure financial sustainability and growth. The National Director will support 1,300 RAD members and 900 teachers to ensure continued value for its membership base and quality in delivery of its varied programmes.

Critical to success will be relevant senior management experience in a cultural, not-for-profit, educational or membership organisation. Candidates will have the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally with teachers, school principals and students while ensuring the ongoing financial sustainability of the organisation. Innovative and strategic in approach, candidates will demonstrate the skill to transform operations to enable RAD to thrive and grow in a post pandemic world. Events management experience and established senior networks with local government, venues and business communities are also desirable.

The role is based in the Sydney office and will require frequent travel within Australia and internationally for meetings or conferences.

As the post involves occasional contact with children and students under 18 years of age, criminal record clearance will be required for the successful candidate.
