The Energy and Water Consumers’ Advocacy Program (EWCAP) works for better regulatory and policy outcomes, so people’s needs are met by clean, resilient, and efficient energy and water systems. The EWCAP team is also helping to drive legal and policy responses to ensure Australia’s regulatory framework and policy settings deliver a just and fair transition to a zero-carbon energy system.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, with regular reporting to funders and the PIAC Board, you will lead, plan, and manage the EWCAP program and team, and build awareness of EWCAP’s work and policy positions. Additionally, you will:
- Convene the EWCAP Reference Group to ensure views of consumers inform policy development
- Manage projects to ensure EWCAP staff and consultants produce high-quality research
- Contribute to identifying, securing, and maintaining funding for EWCAP.
You understand legislative and law reform processes and the economic and political environment relevant to energy and water consumer issues. You have experience in research and public policy development and can demonstrate successfully advocating policy positions to decision-makers. You have relevant tertiary qualifications and:
- Strong people management skills, producing quality results to deadline
- Capacity to develop relationships and build a culture of constructive collaboration
- An ability to deliver presentations to a range of audiences including in the media
