About the Opportunity
Advancement at Griffith builds transformational relationships with alumni, donors, staff, students and external organisations. They nurture and support those partnerships through alumni engagement activities, donor-centred fundraising campaigns and tailored stakeholder activities.
Reporting to the Vice President, Advancement, you will lead a plan to build an institutional culture of philanthropy and engagement, as Griffith launches its’ inaugural comprehensive philanthropy campaign over the next few years. This activity will support the lead up to Griffith’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2025 – an incredible opportunity for the Griffith community, especially alumni to reflect on the achievements of one of the youngest universities to be amongst the best in the world.
In this newly created role, you will build on the strong the track record for alumni engagement and philanthropy already in place to drive innovative approaches and ensure Griffith relies upon technologies, data and analysis to better understand our constituents and ensure sector best performance.
Underpinning this ambition, you will be well supported by a Vice Chancellor and Griffith’s Executive Group who are committed to prioritising engagement for impact, particularly in building transformational philanthropic partnerships and a vibrant alumni community that supports university priorities, including our students.

This a full time, continuing position based at the Gold Coast campus.
About you
- Ideally, has demonstrable experience and success in senior Advancement role in support and delivery of strategic priorities and business improvements.
- Experience and success operating in similar position in Higher Education. This could be holding a senior level in a central university portfolio enabling you to draw upon your sound knowledge and proximity. This could include experience in an externally facing portfolio and industry such as Marketing and Communications.
- Must have advancement, philanthropic or alumni engagement experience or have held a senior position in a philanthropic organisation.
- Technical and technological proficiencies to effectively use Advancement CRM and rely upon data and analysis to ensure evidence base for improving performance and successful delivery of business objectives.
- A highly effective project manager able to initiate, plan and deliver breakthrough new initiatives that meet or exceed expectations.
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills, including ability to write succinct briefings for executive audiences You enjoy using your entrepreneurial know how and thinking outside the square.
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary $ 117,320 – $ 121,515 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation $ 137,264 – $ 142,172.
