About the GV Health Foundation

The GV Health Foundation (the Foundation) was established in 1989 following a successful public appeal to raise funds for a new Children’s Ward.  The Foundation is a separate entity to GV Health with its own trustees however, trustees are to be nominated by the GV Health Board. The Chair of the GV Health Board and the Chief Executive attend meetings of the Foundation.

In 2010, following changes to relevant legislation, the Foundation Trustees resolved to broaden the Foundation’s support to embrace all the clinical, community services and programs provided by GV Health, and the Foundation was relaunched as GV Health Foundation. The Foundation is registered as a Public Ancillary Fund and an Income Tax Exempt organisation.  The Foundation holds deductible gift recipient status.
