Senior Financial Accountant

Our client is a proud and passionate not for profit organisation which has grown considerably since it began operating over 15 years ago.  Providing much needed support to young people across five states in Australia, this service provider has made a profound difference to the lives of more than 1800 children.

Located in head office in Brisbane, we are seeking suitably qualified candidates for the role of Senior Financial Accountant.  This position is responsible for providing finance and management reporting, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of strong controls to support the financial accounting function.  This role oversees the accounts of all subsidiary companies as well as completing consolidation, reporting and forecasts.

In this role you will assist the General Manager Finance and Chief Financial Officer with strategic planning and special projects as well as performing the full end of month process.  This hands-on leadership role will supervise and mentor a small team of financial accountants, prepare and lodge monthly corporate taxes including FBT, income tax and quarterly business activity statements and will promote development in business processes and procedures to drive efficiency and mitigate business risk.

To be considered we are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5+ years in a similar role with a CA/CPA qualification and experience leading a small finance team. You will have strong report writing capability, exceptional attention to detail and advanced analytical skills.  You need to be commercially astute with strong problem-solving and decision making skills and are self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.  You have sound experience in preparing budgets and financial reports/statements and have familiarity with ERP and financial applications.
