About the organisation
Council on the Ageing (COTA) NSW’s purpose is to promote the rights, interests and futures of older people over 50 years in NSW. We give particular attention to the broad diversity of older Australians.
COTA NSW is recognised by the NSW government, the general community and the media as an organisation representing and advocating for all older people in NSW.
COTA NSW is governed by skilled Board Directors from a range of backgrounds. COTA NSW works with other NSW organisations, members and supporters, COTA Australia and the other state/territory COTAs who are members of the COTA Federation Council.
About the role
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leads an organisation which is operating in a rapidly changing and complex environment and is accountable to the Board of Directors. This demands highly developed skills especially in business development, fund raising and advocacy. The CEO needs a deep appreciation of ageing issues.
The CEO must have a track record in influencing public policy, success in securing funds from a range of sources including government, the corporate sector, trusts and foundations and be an effective communicator to a wide range of audiences. The CEO must have advanced experience and skills in human resources management, financial and risk management.
