Established in 1982 in Chadstone, Holmesglen is home to world class facilities across seven campuses and offers over 500 courses including Apprenticeships, TAFE, Higher Education, Short Courses and Youth / Secondary Programs across Arts & Design, Business & Finance, Building & Construction, Community & Health Sciences, Computing & IT, Horticulture & Environment, Hospitality, plus more. The Holmesglen Foundation supports the Institute’s commitment to provide accessible education and skills development to all students, particularly those requiring support to undertake training and education.

The Holmesglen Foundation embodies commitment to accessible education and skills development, particularly for learners who need financial support to commence or continue in programs at Holmesglen Institute through scholarships and grants. The Foundation supports alumni to engage and connect with the Institute, and plays an integral role in the community supporting social inclusion and cohesion, plus works with businesses to develop the workforce of today and tomorrow.

The Director, Advancement is responsible for the strategic development and management of an effective gift program to drive philanthropy and net income to support Holmesglen Institute’s vision. The Director will engage, develop and foster positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including donors, Board members and staff, that will lead to achieving sustainable revenue growth and realising budget targets. Reporting to the Executive Director, Engagement and Support (Holmesglen Institute) and working closely with the Foundation Board, you will play a critical part of the Institute’s community, cultivating goodwill and connections, representing the Foundation at events and leading alumni relationships and associated events.

You will execute a strategic plan to research, solicit and acknowledge gift prospects and donors, maintaining a pipeline that leads to improved donor retention and maximised individual giving levels, underpinned by best practice techniques and ensuring compliance with Privacy and Fundraising Legislation. Building strong, enduring and productive relationships with stakeholders with newly acquired donors, prospects, sponsors and corporate supporters as well as one-on-one relationships with major donors will be essential to success, along with compelling story-telling to connect hearts and minds.

About YOU

    • Sound knowledge of fundraising and proven success in soliciting significant gifts, ideally within the education sector,
    • Demonstrated success in developing and managing a prospect pipeline and major donor portfolio, and diligently moving
      towards win-win outcomes through meaningful engagement and stewardship,
    • A growth mindset with a demonstrated record of financial or sales productivity in a complex environment,
    • Excellent time management, organisational and relationship-building skills,
    • Exceptional presentation, written, oral, communication and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to listen, engage, negotiate
      and influence across a broad range of diverse stakeholders, including experience relating to Boards,
    • High-achiever, self-motivated and flexible, with resilience and a drive to achieve results and outcomes,
    • Bachelor Degree or equivalent relevant education and experience,
    • Relevant fundraising expertise, plus membership and training with FIA, ADAPE, CASE or EducatePlus is desirable.
