About the role
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for our brand management and all internal and externaldigital communications for Documentary Australia.
They will be responsible for the development of content, social media strategy and management, provide event support as well as digital marketing strategy and implementation. Digital knowledge to maintain and update our website is an importantpart of the role.

Essential:
- Content development – excellent written skills with strong attention to detail, ability to write monthly newsletters and create website and EDM copy, as well as create and develop social media.
- Digital and Communications Strategy development – develop and implement digital marketing and communication campaigns that support various projects and events.
- Filmmaker communications – develop and implement effective communication practices with documentary
- Experience in digital community management and communications with social media audiences across multiple platforms.
- Managing communications with donors, partners and filmmakers, enabling them to achieve effective social impact
- Design knowledge – with experience on InDesign, or Canva (or comparable platform) to design invitations, two-page proposals, presentations, EDM’s images and other digital
- Experience on Mailchimp (or comparable platform) to develop user journeys to develop automated campaigns,monthly newsletters, and support filmmaker
- Experience in developing effective website user experience plans & tailored donor journeys to increase engagement & revenue
The ideal candidate will have some if not all the following:
- Significant experience in digital marketing and social media management (3+ years)
- Experience in optimisation of digital marketing funnels to drive revenue and create leads
- Knowledge and experience with managing Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google Adwords
- Demonstrated passion advocating for social
- Efficient time management skills (will need to juggle multiple needs/priorities at once).
- An understanding of graphic design principles (will be managing the creation of all )
- A base knowledge of social media analytics and social media management tools.
- A communications strategist to be able to cut through a cluttered landscape
- Solid knowledge of WordPress to regularly update and manage website pages and projects and reporting
- Website optimisation – experience in optimisation of user experience and process to drive website conversions
- Experience in all aspects of social media, as well as Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, Mailchimp,
- Knowledge of VIMEO, YOUTUBE and similar
- Experience with A/V Set-Up and
- Candidate would need to be a team player, as they will be working across all layers of the organisation as well asexternally with filmmakers and
