Interrelate currently operates 6 Children’s Contact Services throughout NSW. Our CCS’s are places for separated parents and families to connect with each other in a safe and friendly atmosphere. We are pleased to announce that we are opening 5 more CCS’s in NSW and Queensland including one in Griffith. This will provide your local community with a valuable new service for separated families as well as local employment opportunities.

About the role

  • Newly created role to help establish and run a Children’s Contact Service (CCS) in Griffith
  • Part-time 3 days per week, with the flexibility to negotiate your work days & hours

The Assistant CCS Coordinator will be responsible for helping to establish the Service within Griffith under the guidance of the CCS Project Manager and CCS Coordinator; and, once established, help to run the Service. Successful applicants will be instrumental in driving positive social change within their local community, with the support and structure of a family-oriented organisation with close to 100 years in quality service delivery and experience.

Key duties for this role include:

  • With assistance from the Coordinator, support the delivery of the Service within expectations of the service delivery schedule, working towards meeting targets and within budget
  • Support CCS staff to develop and maintain quality observation, report writing and note taking skills by reading and reviewing notes, observation reports, and providing the necessary training
  • Prepare staff rosters, schedule appointments for contact visits and change overs
  • Participate in recruitment, induction, and training for the Children’s Contact Service
  • Participate in collaborative case management discussions to support the delivery of wrap-around services and integrated support to clients as part of Interrelate’s multi-disciplinary team
  • Under the guidance of the Coordinator, respond to formal requests for information from court and other statutory authorities, including compiling subpoenas
  • Follow child protection procedures, complete risk assessment and procedures
  • Supervise family visits and change overs as required and complete observation visits

Key role requirements:

  • Qualifications in one or more of the following: behavioural or social science, social work, community services, counselling, psychology or early childhood
  • Working with families and children experiencing separation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child development, child protection and the Office of the Children’s Guardian’s National Child Safe Standards
  • Ability to provide culturally appropriate support to meet specific needs of First Nations, LGBTQ+ and Culturally & Linguistically Diverse families
  • Experience working with families within a case management setting
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) skills and IT savviness
  • Report writing, case notes, data collection and data entry experience
  • Relationships with the community and local networks will be highly regarded
  • Awareness of Family Law Court procedures will be highly regarded 

This position is permanent part-time, 45 hours per fortnight, and will require evening work and some weekends, and the availability to be on call. A drivers license is essential and access to a car is highly desirable.
