The organisation
Dietitians Australia is the leading voice in nutrition and dietetics in Australia, representing more than 8,500 members in Australia and overseas. They help build healthier communities by communicating credible and timely nutrition messages to the public. Through their advocacy, they campaign for healthy food systems that are accessible for Australians. They also work to foster world-class research to support evidence-based practice.
  
The position
This is an exciting opportunity for a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through its next phase of growth and development.

You will be an established business leader who will ensure the successful delivery of day- to-day operations as well as the strategic priorities of the organisation. Delivering sustained member value and increasing the engagement of members will be a key priority. In addition, you will be a spokesperson for the organisation and advocate on public policy relating to nutrition and dietetics with government and non-government stakeholders.
  
About you
The following skills and attributes will help you to be successful in this role:

  • Strong leadership capability demonstrated through effective people management skills, problem-solving, analytical and conceptual skills;
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills with the ability to develop and maintain strategic networks and influence and negotiate across a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to act as a spokesperson for the organisation;
  • Strong understanding of public policy development and skills in advocacy;
  • Demonstrated experience implementing technology to improve business efficiency, create additional revenue and/or improve business profitability;
  • Demonstrated experience in growing and diversifying revenue sources for an organisation;
  • Senior executive experience in another industry association or within the health sector is desirable; and
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable.
