Our Incubation program is a 12 month+ intensive support program which supports remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs who are looking to grow or evolve their existing businesses and expand their networks and skills.

Impact North Impact North is a stand-alone initiative of Enterprise Learning Projects. It is a community for Northern Australian innovators who are creating social, environmental and cultural impact through their businesses.  At Impact North we are building a collaborative peer network to motivate and support our entrepreneurs.

About the role

Both positions offer you the opportunity to make a difference in supporting entrepreneurs, to achieve lasting impactful outcomes, with the following key responsibilities:

  • Engage with potential participants in the program and build strong relationships with Indigenous entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
  • Develop internal proposals/business cases and collaborate with senior colleagues within ELP to assess and review.
  • Pro-actively drive program planning and reporting.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops in a culturally appropriate manner.
  • Coordinate events and manage travel logistics.
  • Identify and engage external facilitators to provide mentorship to entrepreneurs.
  • Utilise IT software tools for administration, record-keeping and basic visual design and presentations.
  • Contribute to individualised and intensive support for a small cluster of businesses/entrepreneurs.
  • Carry out regular check-ins and follow up with entrepreneur candidates and those participating in the program.
  • Participate in the assessment and evaluation processes, including survey facilitation and data collection.
  • Maintain emotional maturity, exercise good judgment, and employ versatile engagement methods with entrepreneurs.

This is a chance to work in a highly collaborative organisation, which will also provide you the opportunity to gain experience in other programs and services.

About You

The successful candidates for these roles will have the following key skills and attributes:

  • Highly motivated with a passion for ELP’s mission.
  • Cultural sensitivity and a strong connection to the Aboriginal community.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with Indigenous entrepreneurs and stakeholders.

  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in IT software tools and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience in event management and travel arrangement is highly regarded.
  • Willingness to engage in extensive travel to remote locations and spend regular time away from home.
  • The Program Officer (Incubation) position is identified for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidates only. Applications from candidates of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island descent are encouraged for both positions.

The Benefits

These roles both offer an extraordinary opportunity to contribute with purpose and help empower remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entrepreneurs, to transform their communities through enterprise.

You will be supported to upskill in areas that you may need for your role and with the team you will have the opportunity to attend events and forums. Support is also available to develop and learn more in terms of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness and connection.  This is a continual practice in the organisation.

The starting salary for both roles is $80-$85k+super and ELP offers competitive remuneration packages, including salary sacrifice, with travel expenses (flights, driving, accommodation, and meals) covered for work-related travel.  Leave includes time off in lieu to support out-of-hours travel.
