Organisation Name : 2MBS Fine Music Sydney

Founded in 1974 by a small group of passionate volunteer music lovers, 2MBS Fine Music Sydney is Australia’s first stereo FM radio station. For nearly 50 years we have broadcast a wide range of classical music, jazz and other specialist music genres on 102.5 FM, and now DAB+ digital radio and online streaming.

In addition to broadcast, we publish our monthly Fine Music Magazine. We also support emerging young musicians through a number of scholarship, award and residency programs.

About the role

The role of the Communications Manager is to identify, develop and implement promotional initiatives and campaigns that support the 2MBS strategic objectives, and to manage the 2MBS website and socials media platforms. The Communications Manager is also responsible for ensuring brand consistency across our on-air, print, and digital communication channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the 2MBS website and social media pages.
• Develop, execute and evaluate the annual marketing campaign plan.
• Develop campaign specific communications plans.
• Produce all campaign specific press-releases and copy (on-air, print, digital).
• Prepare campaign design briefs and liaise with external design agency to execute.
• Design day to day promotional assets for the website and social media using Canva.
• Generate social media content by monitoring industry news and current affairs.
• Monitor engagement statistics on the 2MBS app, website and social media channels.
• Monitor and report on (monthly) the effectiveness of campaigns and initiatives.
• Manage and maintain a list of media contacts (using Salesforce).
• Develop relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify partnership opportunities.

Selection Criteria

• Over 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably within the arts)
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• The ability to work unsupervised to meet the end goals of the role
• Knowledge and experience using digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g. Canva)
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Campaign Monitor and WordPress (desirable)
• Previous experience working within the not-for-profit or arts industry (desirable)
• Some interest or knowledge of classical music and/or jazz (desirable)
