The position
The Community Engagement Officer of Cancer Programs at ACON will play an important role in ACON’s National Cervical Screening Campaign. You will create, roll out and assess a variety of vibrant, community-centric health promotion initiatives. These initiatives are specially designed to enhance awareness and participation in cervical screening among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
  
About you
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Proven expertise in planning and executing engaging community events, collaborating seamlessly with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure flawless execution.
  • Experience in working with or partnering with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities and/or culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, adept at meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adapting seamlessly to diverse audiences, including community members and stakeholders.
  • Possession of a current Australian driver’s license and a willingness to travel across Australia occasionally to support ACON’s campaigns.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in public health or similar preferred.

This is a full-time position available on a two-year fixed term, with a preferred base in Sydney.
