MHM houses more than 1,300 survivor testimonies and 12,000 artefacts. Built by a community of survivors, the MHM is committed to honouring the lives of both survivors and the six million Jewish victims who lost their lives during the Holocaust. Through sharing their experiences and preserving their legacy, we can learn from the past and build a better future.
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy and Engagement, this is your opportunity to nurture, cultivate and strengthen MHM’s relationship with the community. As MHM’s Membership & Individual Giving Specialist, you will foster a sense of belonging and hope through spreading awareness and ensuring sustainable growth of the institution. Central to this opportunity is the coordination and implementation of captivating membership and fundraising programs to further enhance the impact of the museum’s mission, vision and strategic priorities.
Nestled within a tight knit and collaborative team, you will be responsible for driving membership recruitment, retention and loyalty. You will also grow and develop the donor base through appeals, donor recognition events and stewardship; implementing strategies and campaigns designed to acquire new MHM donors, as well as retaining and fostering long- term relationships with existing MHM donors and supporters.
About YOU
- Relevant experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to implement effective fundraising programs and
campaigns. - Demonstrated excellence in developing and maintaining key relationships with donors and supporters.
- Seamless written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write impactful fundraising appeals.
- Strong data analytics skills and experience in using CRM systems to report on fundraising activity and revenue.
- Proactive and values driven fundraiser with the enthusiasm to combat antisemitism, racism and prejudice in the
community. - Outcomes focussed with an attitude of applying best practice to all endeavours.
- An in-depth knowledge of Holocaust history and/or World War II history highly favoured.
- Bachelor degree in Communications, Business, Public Relations or similar OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
