**Are you ready to shine bright and make a real difference in someone’s life? Here’s your chance to embark on a fulfilling journey as an in-home Disability Support Worker for a fantastic young girl with high care needs.
We have a unique and rewarding opportunity for you to work with a teenage girl with high personal, social, and care needs, including non-verbal communication.

Secure your spot with at least 20 hours per week in a role that can be tailored to fit your schedule, whether you’re seeking a permanent position, casual work, or a contractor arrangement.
Location: In-home care near the historic town of, Yackandandah, just 25 minutes from Wodonga & Beechworth 30 mins from Albury & Myrtleford

We are a progressive family and care team providing care for our teen with physical challenges. We are seeking individuals with a positive, caring attitude and a desire to learn to join our small team of Home-Based Disability Support Workers.  Experienced support workers, school leavers and students are welcome to apply.

The Role:
Based at the family home, you will be the cornerstone of support for an individual with high physical care needs, including non-verbal communication and assistance for all aspects of daily living, PEG feeding and more.
Your role will include:
1. Learning the individual’s communication systems and non-verbal cues to help facilitate everyday communication.
2. Providing person-centred care for every part of the individual’s life.
3. Fostering a youthful and fun environment for our Young Person.
4.  Ensuring holistic care with the family and care team.
5. Embracing a learning and flexible mindset.

About You:
A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn are essential. No prior experience required.
 A stable and reliable work ethic.
Comfortable with and willingness to adapt to non-verbal communication.
Can recognize the individual beyond their disability.
The capacity and strength to perform manual and hoist assisted handling.
A resilient sense of self and emotional well-being.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Willingness to develop an understanding of disability and allied health care work.
  2. Ability and fitness to safely perform manual movements and hoist-assisted movements.
  3. Effectively communicate and be adaptable in how you communicate with our Young Person.

Essential Criteria – WWCC, Police check, Current DL, First Aid level 2 & CPR certificates, working visa for non-residents.

  • – Contractor rates negotiated within the NDIS price guide.

Availability for before and after school, weekend, and overnight shifts
