About the organisation

Organisation Name : Australian Marine Conservation Society

The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is the voice for Australia’s oceans. We are Australia’s leading ocean conservation organisation and one of the founding members of Australia’s conservation movement. We are a community of ocean lovers across the nation working to protect our precious marine wildlife and for healthy seas.

We are an independent charity, staffed by a committed group of scientists, educators and passionate advocates who have defended Australia’s oceans since 1965. Our paid and volunteer staff work every day to protect our coasts and oceans.

About the role

The Digital Fundraising Manager plays a critical role in engaging and motivating AMCS donors via digital channels, raising funds for our work to protect Australia’s oceans and their threatened marine life.

Working closely with the Fundraising Director, the Digital Fundraising Manager will develop, oversee and execute AMCS’ digital fundraising strategy and programs. This includes managing AMCS’ digital fundraising programs such as donor acquisition, donor conversion, digital appeals, passive appeals, organic website donations, virtual gifts, digital donor care and engagement, and retail. Additionally, the role provides digital fundraising support across regular giving, community fundraising, direct mail appeals and donor care, supporter surveys, and philanthropy.

The Digital Fundraising Manager will ensure effective digital acquisition of new supporters, digital conversion of supporters to financial contributors, and cultivation and stewardship of donors via digital channels.

THIS ROLE INVOLVES:
  • Developing AMCS’s existing and robust digital fundraising strategy into a digital-first, best-in-class, sector-leading program.
  • Overseeing digital acquisition, working with the Digital Fundraising Officer to develop and deliver digital acquisition leads, and first-time donor conversion, retention, engagement and nurture programs.
  • Delivering online giving programs including organic online gifts, digital appeals, passive appeals and virtual gifts.
  • Developing and delivering donor retention, engagement and nurture programs to ensure AMCS donors stay engaged and active supporters of our critical work.
  • Contributing to the development of the organisation’s technology strategy, ensuring it supports best practices in digital fundraising and engagement.
  • Managing the Digital Fundraising Officer, overseeing their workflow, performance reviews, and professional development, while fostering delegated decision-making, collaboration and problem-solving.

Please see the attached PD for a full list of responsibilities and further details on the role including the selection criteria.
