About the organisation

Organisation Name : Beehive Industries Co-operative Limited

We are a not-for-profit that provides social and work support for vulnerable seniors, people with a disability and the long-term unemployed.

Beehive also functions as a social enterprise, where we provide our service users, fondly known as the 'Beehivers' with light voluntary work activity.  The work activity consists of simple factory work that helps keep them active and social in their community.

Our social enterprise work helps us to fund the support activities we provide, such as daily meals (including breakfast, morning tea and lunch), and social activities.

Our aim is to address social, health and economic issues that arise from social isolation and loneliness among vulnerable seniors in our community.

To learn more of how we are combatting social isolation and loneliness, watch our feature on ABC Compass called "Meet the Beehivers".
