The National Manager, Trusts and Foundations role will provide effective team leadership, direction and processes that demonstrate best practice in the identification, development and stewardship or key relationships with philanthropic trusts and foundations, to achieve agreed revenue targets. This is a diverse national leadership role, well suited to a senior philanthropy professional with significant experience in trusts and foundations and energised for growth.

Reporting to the Philanthropy Group Manager, you will lead the strategic direction of the portfolio; providing guidance, development and communications to support outcomes in the philanthropic Trusts & Foundations area. Along with a strong focus on people management and team member engagement, this role will create business development and opportunity management processes as well as persuasive proposals and communication materials. You will build and manage strong relationships, identifying where the organisation’s and prospective philanthropic donors goals align to produce sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships. You will also be responsible for preparing reports and establishing internal processes for documentation and tracking of key activity measures to ensure effective project evaluation.

About You:

  • 7+ years of fundraising experience and an innovative approach to fundraising practice, with significant experience in trusts and foundations,
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing small to medium-size teams,
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding financial targets through attracting new philanthropic donors,
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills,
  • Highly developed, engaging and professional written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders,
  • Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and to effectively delegate,
  • Sound business and reporting skills, along with solid experience with CRM databases,
  • Broad knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in Australia,
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline or demonstrated transferable skills in a similar role.
