The People and Culture team
The People & Culture (P&C) team is part of SVA’s Connect function, which includes Finance, IT, Marketing, Legal, Risk and Compliance, Office Coordination and Executive Support. The different Connect functions each play their part to enable teams across SVA to deliver their work consistently and professionally in line with SVA’s strategy.

In particular, the P&C team is a valued partner and trusted advisor to SVA’ers at all levels of the business, supporting the delivery of the organisation’s vison by putting people at the centre of everything we do. 

The Position
The P&C Officer provides end-to-end support to all teams across SVA on a range of people and culture related needs, including our practices, policies, processes, and systems.

Working as part of a close-knit team, they take the lead on P&C administration and operational activities such as:

  • Triaging and responding to general inquiries;
  • Maintaining employee records and information across P&C systems;
  • Drafting and circulating day-to-day internal communications;
  • Preparing and processing information for fortnightly payroll cycles;
  • Coordinating staff onboarding and offboarding;
  • Supporting hiring activities such generating pre-employment and background checks, contracts and variations – just to name a few!

The position also supports special and discrete projects within and outside of the P&C team that improve operational efficiency and contribute to the overall objectives and culture of Social Ventures Australia.

Special requirements

  • Some infrequent interstate travel may be required as part of this role.

Who You Are
You bring experience providing end-to-end operation and administration support, ideally to P&C team/s and with developing knowledge of or exposure to human resources practices, policies and procedures.

Your time management and organisational skills are second to none and set you up for success in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that sees you juggling multiple and competing priorities with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.

You are comfortable working with a variety of different IT systems/platforms and enjoy discovering how to make the best use out of these systems to create smooth and efficient ways of working for your colleagues.

You are passionate about creating opportunities for people to connect with one another at work in ways that are both productive and social.

Last but not least, you will bring an interest in working in the social sector and on society’s most important challenges.
