Our Client Barnabas Aid is a Christian charity that aims to support Christian communities and churches around the world that face persecution and discrimination because of their faith. This is a great opportunity to join an organisation where you can use your talents to serve the global persecuted church.
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for managing the warehouse operations in Newcastle and will provide logistic services to office and remote staff. This role is a crucial aspect of the Barnabasaid Gives programme, which seeks to provide food and medical necessities to suffering Christians and Christian communities globally.
You will also be responsible for;
- Receiving, processing and dispatching food boxes and other items for shipment as directed by the Head of Operations (Australia) or the International office.
- Providing to the Administrator (food.gives) such information on products/goods held in the warehouse facility as required from time to time.
- Working collaboratively with Head of Operations (Australia), the Administrator (Food.gives) and other staff to fulfil the intention of the Barnabas.Gives programmes.
- Providing logistics support to Australian staff, in particular related to the shipping/transport of donated food boxes and medical supplies.
- Developing and overseeing a network of Barnbas.Gives volunteers in the warehouse and in the Hunter region more generally.
- Maintaining a healthy and safe working relationship with the staff and management of Favorite Packaging, whose warehouse and office facilities they share with.
We are looking for a highly dedicated person with at least 3+ years of leadership experience in warehouse operations or factory management, who is ideally licensed to operate forklift trucks in NSW and who is familiar with and able to enforce warehouse safety measures and OH&S standards.
You are detailed orientated, reliable, and highly organised, resilient, maintains composure under pressure and has excellent people skills. You enjoy helping people, can adapt to changing conditions and thrive on getting the job completed to high standards. The successful candidate will be strongly aligned to the Christian values and mission of the organisation.
