About the role

This role will be joining the Melbourne City Mission Check-In Community Mental Health team based at Frontyard Youth Services in Melbourne’s CBD and will enhance the integrated, multi-disciplinary services currently being delivered to young people.

Through a harm reduction approach, the Youth Dual Diagnosis Clinician will provide individualised and group-based specialist support to young people who are experiencing difficulties associated with dual diagnosis with a focus on practical interventions rather than clinical assessments, and providing assessments, crisis interventions, care coordination.

Your duties include:

  • Work flexibly and collaboratively with the Frontyard multidisciplinary team in supporting young people
  • Provide age and developmentally appropriate individualised, assessment and support to young people
  • Ensure that all support provided to young people is recovery oriented, trauma informed, culturally safe and evidence-based

Our ideal candidate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing / Social work / Psychology / Mental Health and eligibility to join the relevant professional body (including AHPRA, AASW, APA)
  • At least three years of mental health and/or AOD and/or Dual Diagnosis sector experience
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering recovery focused, culturally safe, trauma informed, strengths- based support

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses).
