The Wheeler Centre is Melbourne’s home for smart, passionate and entertaining public talks. The Wheeler Centre exists to support writers, readers and thinkers.
Through live and digital conversations, debates, readings, performances and discussions, it deepens public engagement with the most pressing topics of the day. It is dedicated to creative collaboration, community engagement, diversity, and innovation.
About the role
The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing & Ideas is current seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for Board of Directors positions (voluntary).
As an ideal candidate, you will have a demonstrated interest in books, writing and ideas and be familiar with The Wheeler Centre. You will also demonstrate engagement in creative sector events and activities. We are currently seeking candidates with strong skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Finance / Accounting / Investment management
- Corporate Governance
- Risk Management
- Lived experience and understanding of diversity
Experience in the following areas would also be seen as advantageous:
- Audience/customer acquisition and retention
- Philanthropy.
