The Orange Door Program brings together workforces from Community Service Organisations, Aboriginal Services, Family Safety Victoria and DFFH, to deliver an integrated practice model and a consolidated intake point for:

  • Women, children, young people and families who are experiencing or have experienced family violence
  • People who use violence
  • Families requiring support with the care, development and wellbeing of unborn babies, infants, children and young people

 

Your new role

You will deliver quality, safe and effective responses to the needs of children, young people, and families seeking support through The Orange Door.

This will include:

  • Working as a member of a multi-agency team to deliver high quality, safe and effective responses to women, children and families seeking support.
  • Delivering screening, triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals consistent with the Integrated Practice Framework, Operational Guidelines, and relevant risk assessment tools and frameworks including MARAM and Best Interests Framework.
  • Prioritising the safety of victim survivors and children using a gendered understanding of family violence and an understanding of child and family vulnerabilities.
  • Playing an active role in keeping perpetrators of family violence in view and holding them accountable through gathering and sharing information with key agencies.
  • Making an active commitment to the development of an integrated working environment and the maintenance of a cohesive multi-agency team through active participation in staff meetings, team meetings, supervision, and practice discussions.

 

About you

  • You have relevant experience working with women and children victim-survivors of family violence and families requiring assistance with the care and wellbeing needs of children and young people.
  • Knowledge and experience working in clinical roles in family violence AND child and family vulnerability.
  • Sound understanding of the MARAM framework and sector obligations.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk assessment and risk management
  • Sound understanding of the family violence and child wellbeing system, and referral options for clients.
  • Demonstrated capability to network and build productive relationships and partnerships with others both inside and outside organisational boundaries
  • Highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
