About the role

The Opportunity

As CEO, you will be responsible for guiding the organisation through its next phase of growth and development. This role requires a visionary leader who can work closely with the Board of Directors to elevate the organisation’s profile, enhance member engagement, and advocate effectively with key external stakeholders.

The CEO will play a crucial role in driving the strategic vision of the organisation, ensuring financial stability and maintaining the vibrant nature of our community.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of the organisation’s strategic plan.
  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities, particularly those that diversify revenue streams and strengthen financial stability.
  • Champion new initiatives that align with the organisation’s mission and values.

2. Membership and Partnerships

  • Enhance member engagement and the overall member experience.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate partners and community organisations.
  • Represent the organisation in external forums to promote its interests and initiatives.

3. Championing Culture

  • Foster a high-impact, creative, and inclusive culture within the organisation.
  • Encourage innovation and collaboration across all teams.
  • Support the development of a work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

4. Organisational Management

  • Oversee the operational management of the organisation, translating strategic goals into effective plans and actions.
  • Manage financial resources, including budgeting and financial reporting, to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement across the organisation.

5. Governance

  • Ensure the organisation’s governance framework is robust, with effective risk management practices in place.
  • Work with the Board of Directors to monitor the impact and effectiveness of the organisation’s programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.

About You

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and managing change.
  • Strong background in building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex strategies into actionable plans that engage and inspire others.
  • Innovative, data-driven approach to planning and strategizing.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit or tertiary education sector is highly desirable.
  • Tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in management, business administration, or a related field are desirable.
