About the role
BYS is Brisbane’s largest provider of housing and homelessness support services for young people aged 12-25, and their children.
Services include securing and maintaining housing, crisis support, and medical services addressing the psychological and physical health needs of young people and their children.
The purpose of this position is to support and enable BYS’s strategic direction and capability through the development and implementation of Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Work, Health and Safety strategies, policies and practices across the organisation.
As the primary custodian of culture, you must fully understand and embrace BYS’s vision, values, and objectives. You will lead the development and execution of the strategic People and Culture plan, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s overall strategy, goals, and mission. As the primary advisor to the executive team on all people-related matters, you will foster an inclusive, high-performance and accountable workplace culture. This executive role will also involve reporting to the Board on all people and culture initiatives while leading, developing, and mentoring the People and Culture team to promote a collaborative environment.
This position is ideal for a generalist HR practitioner seeking to advance their career in a distinctive service environment, one rooted in values of respect, optimism, accountability, and resilience. We are seeking a professional with a minimum of 10 years of HR leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior role. While we remain open to candidates from various sectors, emphasis will be placed on cultural alignment, motivation, and extensive experience in strategically managing a dynamic workforce.
Working conditions will include an executive package with professional development support, five and a half weeks’ annual leave and carpark.
