As an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO), Djirra delivers holistic, culturally safe, specialist family violence support, legal services and case management, alongside cultural and wellbeing workshops and programs. Djirra advocates for system-wide change to improve access to justice, eliminate systemic violence, and strengthen women's resilience.
About the role
Your new role:
Supporting CEO, Antoinette Braybrook AM; inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2020, 2022 Victorian recipient of the Australian Awards of Excellence in Women’s Leadership, 2022 Melbournian of the Year – the first Aboriginal person to receive this Award in its 20 years of existence, appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2023 and an Honorary Doctorate from Deakin University in 2024. This position works closely with all Djirra Directors and the Strategic Advisor to manage the CEO’s office both strategically and administratively, overseeing all internal administrative tasks.
Your duties include:
- High-level executive support including diary management and travel bookings and preparation of Board papers
- Draft and edit high-quality documents, presentations and reports for internal and external use
- Support the Strategic Advisor to set and manage the CEO priorities, upcoming tasks and commitments to ensure deadlines are met
- Extensive stakeholder management across all levels of government and philanthropy
- Draft professional emails and correspondence on behalf of the CEO as needed
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism and ensure that highly sensitive matters and files are organised, handled and stored appropriately
About you:
As an experienced C-suite Executive Assistant, you will have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, particularly in relation to the impact of family violence on Aboriginal women is highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Aboriginal community
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the organisation and community
- High level of attention to detail and time management being able to work in a fast-paced purpose-driven environment
