About the organisation
Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of the Project Officer is to develop, lead and deliver projects that align with Walytjapiti core business. This role is aimed at strengthening families through workshops, engagement, research, consultation and resource development, while working from a community development framework to ensure all project activities are appropriately aligned and relevant to Anangu people.
ABOUT YOU
You will have relevant qualifications in Social Work,human service related field and / or significant and extensive experience in child and family support work including the support and supervision of staff.
You will also have an understanding of the issues that affect the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people in remote communities, particularly in relation to why families and children would be coming into contact with the CP System.
Additionally, you will be able to align with the values and principles upheld by NPY Women’s Council, contributing to a culturally sensitive and supportive work environment. A willingness to participate in comprehensive orientation, best practice supervision, and ongoing professional development, including vicarious trauma training, is essential.
