Enable Social Enterprise

Enable is an innovative not for profit organisation founded in August 2013 to tackle high unemployment head-on in Melbourne’s north to relieve poverty and the risk of homelessness due to lack of access to work and learning for highly disadvantaged job-seekers. As a social enterprise, Enable’s vision is a connected community without disadvantage. Our mission is to break unemployment cycles and meet the needs of disadvantaged job-seekers through offering robust work and learning opportunities and employment pathways programs and we achieve this through our commercial ventures such as our online shop, http://www.intheclick.org.au/ that commenced trading in late 2014.

Seeking Experienced Chair with strong Financial acumen

Taking on this role after departing Chair served a three year tenure, you will have suitable qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge to;
• Provide strategic leadership and nurture collaborative and supportive culture
• Lead and manage the Board through robust understanding of Finance, good governance principles and systems
• Have a genuine interest in social justice and supporting those in communities experiencing high socio-economic disadvantage
• Eager to “pay it forward” (voluntary role)

You will join a dedicated and passionate volunteer Board of Directors with extensive experience, knowledge and skills across not for profit, commercial and local, state and federal government sectors in area of governance, strategy, finance, risk and marketing and thought leadership.
