Requests Coordinator

THE POSITION Big Group Hug is expanding at a rapid rate and now needs the volunteer services of an Request Coordinator to coordinate the requests for material aid coming to us from our partners in the community.

This position can be done from home but will require from time to time attending our warehouse on a Monday and Thursday between 9am – 1pm. It the position which has the most contact with our support services and coordinate all of the material aid going out to our clients.  It is one of the most satisfying volunteer roles as you see directly the help we are providing to our community in need.

The person needs to be proficient in using email and MS Word. Experience in Excel is highly desirable as well as database experience. You will also need to have internet at home as well as a PC.

WHO IS BIG GROUP HUG Big Group Hug assists vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the early years (0 to 5) through the provision of targeted material, educational and developmental resources. We are all volunteers at Big Group Hug with no paid positions. BGH supports social service agencies in Victoria who work with children and vulnerable families to identify gaps in material disadvantage. Our aim is to directly target the gap in access to material items that impacts the development and health of a child be they autistic, physically disabled, in foster care or living below the poverty line. We collect and sort quality unwanted and excess childhood goods donated by the community and corporate donors and distribute these items to social service agencies who request on behalf of clients with immediate needs as well as organising specific packs for parents.
