OVERVIEW Play is important for the development of the child. Physical Education has been incorporated into Kenyan education curriculum for elementary schools. Students are allowed to play and learn during the school days mostly during 10am break, 1pm lunch break and 3pm break before they go home. Volunteering with Humanitarian Elites will equip students with knowledge, skills and experience to benefit from an organized team playing. Most kids in elementary schools in Kenya just engage in unorganized playing hence it can be considered as a waste of talents and resources. Hence, by you being part of this program, you will coach students, kids and village youths in football management. Sports serve as a tool for peace and unity since different tribes plan and execute a plan to score against the other team. It imposes team management skills and respect to others. Hence, you will help bring cohesion among tribes, build talents and enhance performance of the kids and youths in the village
YOUR ROLE • Helping teachers in primary schools in management and teaching sports and physical education • Helping local youths football groups in team management, training and exercise • Helping in identification of sports-related talents and unique abilities • Teaching or helping in any other lessons or subjects as assigned by the head teacher e.g. English, Agriculture or other subjects
