Variety WA Kids Support Committee Member

Variety WA is seeking three (3) new members to join our Kids Support Committee, which is a voluntary role.  

The Kids Support Committee is one of the most pivotal roles for our organisation, as you are primarily responsible for assisting with distributing the funds raised to WA kids through grants and programs.

Mission

To empower West Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability to live, laugh and learn.

Objective

The objective of the Kids Support Committee (KSC) is ensuring the Variety’s mission is effectively delivered within the Kids Support Framework. The Committee is responsible for assessing and recommending outcomes for applications received via our Grants program, as well as endorsing and approving expenditure for other deliverables within the Variety Kids Support framework. This is to be carried out in a professional, equitable and consistent manner, and in doing so, help raise the profile of VWA and its charitable objectives.

Eligibility

Demonstrate relevant background / expertise in the following;

• Human services
• Medical
• Nursing
• Education
• Welfare / community services
• Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander community representatives

 Be passionate about helping children and giving back to the community

Be willing to sign a membership agreement

Be able to attend a minimum 70% of meetings per year (up to 11 meetings per annum)

Be available to attend face to face meetings on Monday afternoons (scheduled up to a year ahead), at the Variety WA Office in Burswood. Video-link is acceptable on occasion.
