About the Role
Australian Youth Affairs Coalition (AYAC) is seeking a voluntary Treasurer and Board Member to join our organisation. The Treasurer will Chair the Audit and Finance Subcommittee and work with the team to oversee and monitor the organisation’s finances. We have recently secured long term funding and established new financial systems and accounting practices.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Qualification and experience in financial management and/or accounting
- Capability and willingness to oversee the organisation’s finances
- Experience of corporate governance and/or reporting to a board
- Understanding of audit and financial responsibilities of charities and non-profit organisations
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Current Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA)
- Experience as a director
- Qualifications in governance
- Experience or knowledge of fundraising
Responsibilities
- Chair the Audit and Finance Subcommittee
- Prepare and review financial reports with the Executive Officer
- Attend Board Meetings
- Maintain membership of AYAC
