About the role

The Care Package Program operates every Saturday fortnight with groceries purchased from local IGAs and delivered by Volunteers across the western, northern, and eastern suburbs. The people accessing this service range from singles, couples, people with disabilities, young families to the elderly. The Care Package Program addresses food security issues whilst providing a medium for connecting with people who may have a roof over their heads but are struggling to make ends meet.

What you’ll do
As a Recipient Caller you will be responsible every Friday (day before deliveries) for:
• Calling allocated recipients of groceries to confirm that they will be home on the Saturday;
• Confirm any specific requirements and delivery information with the recipient;
• If there are new referrals, call and assess the prospective recipient following a prescribed questionnaire;
• Advise the Care Package Program Manager of any recipients who were not contactable and/or did not require a parcel.

Commitment:
• 30 min – 2 hours on a Friday.
