About the role

You are highly computer literate, are willing to learn and navigate volunteer management software and are a natural communicator. You want to help our small team to vastly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our volunteer onboarding process and engagement with our volunteers.

You’ll be joining a management team who are passionate and unwavering in our support of people in our community at risk of, or who are experiencing homelessness.
We actively encourage and foster thinking outside the box, so you will be able to explore and use your creativity.

What you’ll do
As the Volunteer Manager you will be responsible for:
• Managing the Better Impact volunteer management app.
• Recording, communicating, coordinating, and allocating individual volunteers and groups to our programs to mitigate the risk of having a shortfall of volunteers.
• Verifying prerequisite volunteer training certificates / documents.
• Communicating and liaising with the 300 Blankets Program managers and management team on a regular / as-required basis to confirm volunteer allocations.
• Issue weekly reminder notices to each of the volunteers participating in 300’s programs via the app.
• Follow up with volunteers who were absent at the designated Program activity.
• Volunteer at least once with each of our 3 service Programs.

Commitment:
• 6 months.
• 0-2 hours per week. (Note: initial Better Impact Training may require additional time to this allocation).

300 Blankets is a not for profit, volunteer-run charity, dedicated to supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria through three service Programs: Outreach, Soul Kitchen and Iceolation with up to 150 volunteers involved in these programs each month. By reaching out to people who are disenfranchised and socially isolated, we strive to break down barriers and enrich a community where all people are accepted and respected through love, compassion, and dignity.
