About the role
As a mission-led organisation, our volunteer Directors have a personal commitment to the work of the organisation and making a difference in people’s lives.
The Board includes Directors with diverse skills and industry knowledge, who successfully lead the governance and strategic directions of our organisation. Further details about our Board members can be found at: https://www.leisurenetworks.org/who-are-we/our-board/
The Board meets approximately 10 times a year from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on the last Wednesday of the month. The Board supports a flexible / hybrid approach to attendance, with face to face meetings at key times. Directors are also required to serve on at least one board committee along with associated preparation and development opportunities.
About the organisation
Leisure Networks is a medium sized non-profit organisation which has existed since 1990. Our vision is to see capable, healthy people and inclusive communities and our mission of connecting people with community drives our work.
As a registered provider with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), we deliver a range of direct support and intermediary services, including:
- Individual and small group social and capacity building programs
- Support for people to live independently
- Support Coordination
- Financial Plan Management
Our work is embedded in communities and also works with regional sporting bodies, state sporting associations, grass roots sporting clubs and local governments to provide programs for people of all ages to be physically active, healthy and included within their communities.
The organisation is at an exciting time, part way through the delivery of the TED25 (Transform, Excite, Deliver) strategy and is looking to the next phase of organisational growth and transformation.
