About the role
Biyani House Revesby Women’s Shelter is a community led refuge that provides crisis accommodation and comprehensive support services to women and children escaping domestic and family abuse, empowering them towards recovery and independence in a secure and nurturing environment.
The Biyani House Fundraising and Marketing Committee:
- Attends a one-hour Committee meeting once a quarter.
- Dedicates up to 4 hours a week to fundraising and marketing activities.
- Supports the implementation of our Fundraising Strategy.
- Makes recommendations to the Board about fundraising and marketing projects, campaigns, events, and activities of Biyani House.
- Provides advice to the Biyani House Board about fundraising and marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the growth of Biyani House’s funds and resources through the implementation of fundraising and marketing strategies.
- Participate in committee meetings on a Quarterly basis.
- Advocate for and support the Biyani House fundraising and marketing efforts within networks and the wider community.
- Lift the profile of Biyani House fundraising and marketing campaigns.
- Secure donations and philanthropic support that furthers the Biyani House mission, vision, and purpose.
- Comply with all Commonwealth and State legislative requirements relevant to this position.
Skills:
- A passion for supporting those experiencing homelessness and/or domestic and family violence.
- At least 2 years’ experience in fundraising or marketing.
- High level communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong links within the Canterbury-Bankstown community.
- Visionary and entrepreneurial.
- Financial acumen.
- Experience establishing and building relationships with major donors, corporate supporters, and private ancillary foundations that have the capacity to make a significant gift highly desirable.
