About the role

Empowered Together is a not-for-profit organisation that works towards the peer led primary prevention of sexual violence. Our vision is a world where sexual integrity is respected, sexual violence is taken seriously and those who have experienced sexual violence receive the support they need to heal.
We are youth run and seek to engage this generation to lead the change. Our two main operations include running workshops on consent and sexual violence in secondary schools and engaging the wider community through our online platforms.

Key Responsibility
Improve the technology and information systems of the organisation by analysing the architecture, recommending actions, and helping to implement solutions.

Duties
● Monitoring and maintaining business information systems (BIS) used by the business
● Helping maintain the website focusing on improving performance, UX and SEO
● Investigating methods to make it easier for teams to utilise technology to help solve their business problems
● Providing general technical support across the organisation
● Setting up accounts for new users
● Recommending improvements to the technology and security position of the organisation

Skills required
Technical:
● Knowledge of (or ability to learn) WordPress content management system (CMS)
● Awareness/knowledge of programming languages – particularly front-end (HTML, CSS, some JS). Back-end helps but not essential (WordPress is PHP-based)
● Knowledge of networks, databases and servers
● Knowledge of the general Google suite
● Ability to improve existing technologies used by the organisation
Non-Technical:
● Passionate about the fight against sexual violence
● Critical thinker
● Strong initiative and can-do attitude
● Strong communication skills

Time Commitment
The successful applicant will be expected to commit 2-3 hours a week. This is flexible as most work is done in your own time. The successful applicant will be expected to commit to the role for at least a year.
