We’re looking for passionate volunteers to help grow a thriving, people-powered movement!
This volunteer role requires 3-5 hours per week (flexible hours), with a minimum 6-month commitment
This is an exciting opportunity to volunteer with Amnesty International Australia (AIA) in our Movement Building Collective (MBC). We are looking for volunteers based in Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia to join our MBC.
As a Representative of the MBC, you’ll be part of a national team of volunteers that supports in building a sustainable human rights movement by strengthening activist relationships within and across regions. You will support with building the infrastructure of a strong, connected, dynamic and sustainable movement that is ready to take action on our priority human rights campaigns.
The work of the MBC contributes to AIA’s broader goals by supporting movement building in ways that expand AIA’s core activist base, conduct relational check ins that encourage and foster sustainable activism, and strengthen grassroots efforts and partnerships with local communities. By enhancing activist leadership and campaign capacity, this team will deepen relationships, improve retention, and create distributed, scalable action across core campaigns – ensuring a more resilient and impactful movement.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for relationship building and inspiring action in others. We are looking for volunteers with the confidence to have meaningful, inspiring and sometimes difficult conversations with others to foster people-powered campaign impact. You’ll also pick up some incredible community organising skills and experiences along the way.
This role is perfect for someone who is:
- Confident in relationship building and enjoys working with other people to drive change
- A great communicator with people of diverse backgrounds and ages
- Excited to be part of a people-powered movement and has a positive and enthusiastic outlook
- Passionate about human rights and social justice
- Creative, innovative and open-minded to new projects, opportunities and strategies
- Organised, proactive and has good time-management skills
