About the role
We are particularly seeking an individual with:
- A law degree or legal qualifications
- Experience in governance, regulatory compliance, or corporate secretarial duties
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
The Secretary plays a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing meeting documentation, supporting decision-making processes, and safeguarding the Society’s legal and ethical obligations.
Additional Skills and Desirable Attributes:
Applicants with knowledge of governance principles such as those taught in the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors Course (CDC) will be highly regarded.
Experience in the aged care sector and familiarity with the Aged Care Act 1997 and Aged Care Quality Standards is also desirable, given the regulated environment in which we operate.
Furthermore, a connection to Hungarian heritage, culture, or the Hungarian community is valued, as Árpád Aged Care is dedicated to preserving and celebrating this cultural legacy for our residents and their families.
Prior governance experience is desirable but not essential. Training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities will be provided to the successful candidate.
