About the role
Friends for Good was the first national charity working solely on the issue of loneliness.
We operate Friend Line, a service for people experiencing loneliness to chat with friendly volunteers. Through social media we have a space for conversations to break down the stigma surrounding this issue, which is very detrimental to our health. We have completed an on-line survey Time We Talked to find out more about loneliness in Australia and hosted the first national conference – The Australian Loneliness Dialogue..
FFG is seeking a board member who is either experienced working on boards or new to the role. We are seeking someone with experience in fundraising and/or building partnerships with business. By far the most important criteria is commitment to our mission and a willingness to contribute as part of a committed team.
We meet every second month in the Melbourne CBD (Monday evenings 6-8pm) and in the intervening months ask all board members to participate by undertaking projects or tasks.
To apply for this role please email Patricia Lauria, Chairperson, expressing your interest. Please include a copy of your CV.
