CAMBODIA | Volunteer Accountant @ NGO Empowering Women

Accounting for International Development offers every type of accountant, from anywhere in the world the opportunity to use their skills to support a broad range of non-profit organisations globally. Volunteer Accounting Assignments of between 2 weeks and 6 months form part of our ongoing strategy to build the financial management capacity of charities in over 50 countries.

Our partner aims to create opportunities for Cambodian women, allowing them to become socially, politically and economically independent, to live without fear, violence and exploitation.

This is achieved through providing an alternative means of employment, making handicrafts – such as scarfs, throws and cushions – which are sold for profit. They have requested support with their plans for expansion and growth.

They need support in identifying relevant and appropriate grants or investments, preparing financial information for proposals and applications. You will also be preparing a business case for capital investment to raise funds for their current objectives.

You will be working with the General Manager and Advisory Directors to improve their financial planning, assisting with research into social innovation funding opportunities and reviewing and improving their current marketing strategy. You will be providing further training in QuickBooks and building general capacity in finance management.

You will also be formalising overhead and product calculations and reviewing and improving stock management procedures, including capturing product itemised sales data in QuickBooks.
