About the Role

  1. AMAQ Coporate Services will be taking over the management of our finances (effectively taking on the duties of a Treasurer). We need a Finance Officer to be a conduit between AMAQ and our Board and Branches and to help support our Branches through these initial changes. The role would involve ensuring the AMAQ have the documents and paperwork they require from our Head Office and our Branches and that the AMAQ are satisfactorily fulfilling the duties in our agreement with them. They would also be required to co-sign internet banking payments.
  2. The second part of the role is the Membership Officer. We are in the process of setting up a new member database that will be part of our new website that we will start building in January. The new system will generate renewal letters (approx around May as our membership expire on 30th June) and send them out. The Membership Officer will process any manual renewals ie: recieved by mail with a cheque. New membership will also be automated however the Membership Officer will be required to process any membership applications recieved via mail. The Membership officer would be required to produce member lists for our branches and board members when necessary. They would also need to take enquires from members about their membership. 

We do not have a physical office. We all work from home so the role is suitable for anyone with an internet connection and a reliable computer and some time to spare. The hours vary. I have put 10-20 hours per month. It isn’t likely to be that much most of the time. There will be weeks where there is nothing for you to do but there may be the odd week (perhaps around membership renewal time) when you will be required to do perhaps 8hrs in a week. 

The position will start off as a committee position to our Board with the right person having the opportunity to be elected onto our National Board of Directors. So the person must be an Australian citizen living in Australia. And must be available to attend our Board meeting in person. This is usually 2-3 days in Sydney but could be in other States.
