Grants Officer

About the role

We are looking to recruit a new volunteer with grant writing or philanthropy experience to join our team as Grants Officer.

Commitments:

● Time: 2-3 hours/wk

● Term: 1 year (with possibility of extension)

● Regular meetings: I will attend at least 75% of Sub-Committee meetings, held every two months on Zoom in the evening with volunteers around Australia.

Duties/Responsibilities:

● Explore and find new grant opportunities, as well as staying informed regarding current grant opportunities

● Maintain a calendar of grant application deadlines

● Write grant applications and seek advice from the Board where necessary

● Encourage other volunteers to write grant applications and provide feedback

● Where grants are successful, liaise with the Swazi Team Manager and Board to complete reports at the end of the grant period (as required by the grant giver)

Key attributes:

● Passion for PDI and understanding of our ethos

● Grant writing experience (highly desirable)

● Ability to take initiative

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Organised and able to meet multiple deadlines.
