About the role

The role will be focused on assisting in the development of frameworks including policies and procedures that support the ongoing operation and growth of the Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council.

The Land Council operates across 4 Local Government Areas which include Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and Wingecarribee. Our mandate is to provide opportunities and services particularly as they relate to land and culture to all Aboriginal people within our boundary.

Over the next 12 months we anticipate significant change to our operating environment and we require assistance in ensuring that our operational and governance frameworks are appropriate and keep us abreast of these changes. We believe with the right frameworks we have an opportunity to significantly progress the economic and social position of Aboriginal people within our region.

The person we require will need to be self directed with a strong understanding of the development of policies and procedures in a highly regulated environment. Ideally you will have an understanding of Government frameworks at either a local, state or federal level and can apply this knowledge to this role.
