About the role
Robogals is an international, not-for-profit organisation that aims to inspire, engage and empower young women into engineering and related fields. This is achieved through fun and educational initiatives aimed at girls in primary and secondary school. Since its inception in 2008, Robogals has engaged over 60,000 girls around the world.
The Role
The Science Challenge is an Australia-wide STEM competition for girls aged 5 to 15 years old.
Participants are invited to participate in a series of small science experiments, before
embarking on an investigative project of their choosing.
The purpose of this role is to assist with the planning and execution of the Robogals Science
Challenge competition in Asia Pacific region. There will be two Co-Managers working alongside each
other.
The Science Challenge Co-Manager reports to the Initiatives Director and is responsible for:
- Designing, planning, and assisting with running of the competition.
- Competition content: sourcing STEM projects for use in the competition.
- Competition promotion and impact tracking.
- Event organisation: Science Challenge workshops & Awards presentations.
- Financial planning and budgeting.
- Ongoing liaison with partner organisations, schools and the Robogals community.
Skills Required
The successful candidate will require:
- Time management and the ability to multitask.
- Attention to detail and resourcefulness.
- Ability to communicate professionally to a range of stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have or be developing skills in:
- Creative writing
- Graphic design
- Website development
