About the role
Friends for Good was the first national charity working solely on the issue of loneliness.
We operate Friend Line, a service for people experiencing loneliness to chat with friendly volunteers. Through the media we have a space for conversations to break down the stigma surrounding this issue, which is very detrimental to our health. We conduct research and community education activities including the first of now bi-annual national conferences – The Australian Loneliness Dialogue, as well as symposiums. In essence Friends for Good is a thought leader and social change agent in this space.
FFG is seeking a Treasurer with accounting qualifications and experience working in the field. Experience with Xero would be advantageous, but the most important criteria is commitment to our mission and a willingness to pitch-in and contribute as part of a committed team.
We meet every second month in Northcote (Monday evenings 5.30-7pm) and in the intervening months ask all board members to participate by completing agreed projects and tasks.
