About the role

Being a carer for someone is often a rewarding and humbling experience. However, carers can sometimes find themselves struggling to navigate their role and access assistance.

The Weavers program is a new, innovative peer to peer approach supporting people caring for a loved one who is ageing. Carers will get support to understand their role and ease any difficulties they are facing, by pairing them with experienced volunteers, known as Weavers, who have skills and knowledge of the caring journey. The program is funded by the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) and is delivered throughout Inner West, South West and South East Sydney.

Volunteer Weavers will provide guidance in navigating and negotiating services, connecting with family and friends, dealing with emotional challenges, etc.

Multicultural Care will provide all the training and support our volunteers might need. All we ask is you complete a free National Police Check and commit to at least 1 visit per week for 12 weeks.

If you, or someone you know, is looking to give back to the community, get in touch!
